It ranks keywords by how difficult it is to rank for them based on things like how much traffic the website in the top spot gets, and what percentage of that traffic is organic vs. paid. It also tracks which keywords a website ranks on page one of Google search results. All you need to do is enter your competitor’s URL and then click keywords or ranking data in the toolbar below the screen. You can filter by country too if you want to only see UK specific data, but keep in mind that Ahrefs doesn’t show US data unless they are running ads through AdWords Express. 
It will take some time looking at these numbers before they start making sense but don’t worry! I recommend bookmarking your favorite competitors with these tools open so you can reference them later when deciding on new keyword opportunities.
